Based in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), AGC Glass Europe produces, processes and distributes flat glass for the construction (external glazing and interior decorative glass), the automotive (original & replacement glass) and the solar sectors. It is the European branch of AGC Glass, the world's largest producer of flat glass.

The Role / Job :

Providing legal support and advice to all business divisions on various legal matters with a specific focus on R&D activities and New Business Development (all but Tax and HR which are dealt within the respective department), in particular:

  • Formulate, draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of national or international commercial related documents, with a large proportion/focus on IP/IT related contracts;
  • Support and advise on projects impacting the group’s structural evolution (investments, M&A and industrial partnerships), mainly in the field of new business development;
  • Facilitate and collaborate in contract or dispute negotiations in close contact with the business, identifying and reporting legal risks and formulating alternative proposals;
  • Assess and advise on various ad hoc legal matters for all areas of the business;
  • Support the continuous improvement of legal templates and increase the awareness of the business on legal matters.

The geographic scope is Europe, CIS countries and MENA region. Occasional travel may be required. Our HQ is located in Louvain-la-Neuve and our R&D center in Gosselies (Charleroi).

Requirements :

We are looking for an experienced, autonomous and collaborative team member who possesses sound judgment and the ability to make decisions that balance the important business and legal priorities of the company.

  • Law Degree;
  • Min 5 to 10 years relevant experience;
  • IP/IT competence or experience is a major plus;
  • Experience with international context;
  • Strong business awareness;
  • Excellent oral and written communication;
  • Fluent in English.  Any other European language is a plus. The most common language at the R&D center is French.
  • Dynamic, autonomous and pragmatic.
  • Result oriented.
