It is the glass branch of AGC, a world leader in flat glass. It has over 100 sites throughout Europe and employs around 15,200 employees.

Its operations are present in Europe and South America and is driven by 3 strategic Business Units:

  • Architectural Glass Europe Upstream is responsible to supply raw glass to its own division and to the Automotive Division.
  • Architectural Glass Europe Downstream is responsible for processing and distributing raw glass into finished building products.

The Role / Job :

Your mission as Sustainability Engineer

You will be part of the AGC Sustainability and Product Stewardship Department that is in charge of supporting AGC Glass Europe’s sustainability journey in its environmental aspects (Zero Pollution, Product Monitoring & Declaration, Circularity & Product Stewardship, Carbon Neutrality).

Your mission will focus on glass for the architectural sector and will involve mainly the management of the Cradle to Cradle certification process, answering customers requests on Green Products and Green Certification schemes, creating and maintaining LCA and EPD’s and consolidating our suppliers sustainability progresses.

Translating as follows in day to day :

  • Collect, check, analyze primary data
  • Consolidate data to address certification requirements in frequent contacts with C2C assessors
  • Identifying points of progress and suitable approach to optimize our sustainability performances during different life stages of our products starting from suppliers
  • Provide customers with environmental transparency on recyclability, supply chain, packaging, transport, use and end-of-life
  • Present our sustainability and product stewardship approach (internally or externally)
  • Follow up existing and future legislations on Circularity and Chemicals (REACH, …)

Requirements :

Your talents 

  • You have a scientific profile with an Engineering Degree in Chemistry, Bioengineering or related field (recent graduate or with a few years’ experience) - whatever the field, management of all basics in Thermodynamics and Chemistry
  • Strong affinity with industrial and operational processes (experience in industry being a plus) with the ability to translate them into models
  • You want to contribute to further improve the sustainability of glass production and have a passion for environmental solutions
  • You have advanced experience in usage of Excel to treat big volumes of data, knowledge of LCA softwares is a plus (GaBi, SimaPro or others) 
  • Multitasker, curious with a bias for action, perseverant and autonomous
  • You are analytical, rigorous, attentive to details with the ability to see the big picture and to synthetize complex matters
  • Customer centric and team player in interaction with different stakeholders in factories, research and marketing
  • You have the ability to adapt your communication at all levels in multicultural environments and have good presentation skills
  • You are fluent in English, any other European language is a plus
