Based in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), AGC Glass Europe produces, processes and markets flat glass for the construction industry (external glazing and interior decoration), car manufacture and other industrial sectors (transport, solar power and high-tech). It is the glass branch of AGC, a world leader in flat glass. It has over 100 sites throughout Europe and employs around 15,200 employees.

Its operations are present in Europe and South America and is driven by 3 strategic Business Units:

  • Architectural Glass Europe Upstream is responsible to supply raw glass to its own division and to the Automotive Division.
  • Architectural Glass Europe Downstream is responsible for processing and distributing raw glass into finished building products.

The Role / Job :

You will be responsible for the marketing-related communication of AGC Glass Europe's sales and marketing department in the DACH region.  Working closely with the central marketing department in Belgium, you will contribute to the development of the best communication tools for existing and new products to help the sales force promote them.  You will have to understand the specifications of glass products and be able to translate them into clear and attractive communication messages to the defined target groups (architects, designers, fabricators, façade manufacturers, window manufacturers, etc.).

You must be able to define and use the most appropriate communication channels, following current trends:

  • offline (brochures, leaflets, advertisements, press releases, media relations)
  • online (social media, newsletters, videos, webinars, websites ...)
  • support in planning , implementation and participation in external and internal events (e.g. trade fairs, in-house and customer events).
  • development of the most appropriate tools (in cooperation with the central marketing department in Belgium)
  • continuous improvement of tools, methods and work processes in the communications field
  • setting and monitoring (local) product or campaign related communication budgets (following both centrally defined actions and local initiatives)

Requirements :

  • Communication or journalistic education or professional background
  • At least 5 years of experience in the field of communication (B2B)
  • Experience in the glass industry would be an advantage but not mandatory
  • Experience in project management, i.e. planning/coordinating several tasks at the same time and implementing them within the given time frame
  • Strong teamwork and cooperation skills
  • structured, analytical, independent and proactive way of working
  • very good verbal articulation but also willingness and ability to listen
  • very good knowledge of German and English; knowledge of French is a plus
  • creative with very good writing skills (for brochures, press releases etc.) )
  • knowledge of event management and organization of trade fairs is an advantage
  • practical experience in dealing with other people , overcoming language and cultural barriers
  • flexible, resilient and able to travel occasionally
