AGC Automotive Europe specializes in providing customers with complete solutions in terms of car glazing and related technologies. It includes production and sales of products to vehicle manufacturers (Cars and Trains) in terms of Glazing, Added Value products and components systems; as well as a complete range of service in the aftermarket area from production to distribution and retail.

A new AGC dedicated structure called Incubation Factory has been created some years ago in order to take the lead on start-up activities of AGC Automotive Europe. For example our FEELINGLASS® start-up, moving now to a scale-up phase for the display cover glass business, creates new solutions for future car interior design (https://feelinglass.eu/).

The Role / Job :

As a Product & Program Manager, you are in charge of managing new products development with all aspects of thin glass integration programs using FeelInGlass® portfolio of solutions, with the full support of the operational and the technical teams (Industrialization, Quality, Supply chain, Engineering, Design).

You will enjoy working in a fast-moving « start-up » mode, while having the benefits of a big and successful company, recognized in the automotive industry, as well as being part of a close team working on the development of innovative mobility solutions. You will be also active on new business development activities until we can turn them into new program opportunities.

In your role, you will be reporting to the FIG COO (Chief Operating Officer) and support also the new business development led by the CEO and the CCO.  

Your responsibilities:

  • In the project (adv.) design phase, develop, support and advice FeelInGlass® customers (OEM, tier 1's and display suppliers) in all technical questions.
    • Lead technical discussions with customers until you can reach clear product requirements (compliance matrix, drawings,...). Involve our technical experts whenever needed for deeper discussions and specific investigations.
    • Be able to support design and sales team through hand's on prototypes and/or minimum viable products materialization.
    • Start drafting the industrial process flow with the technical and operational teams for an efficient product manufacturing (from prototyping to mass production).
    • Identify the specific needed equipment, tooling and suppliers.
    • Start building and managing the program planning and risks analysis in concertation with the operational and the technical teams.  
  • In the quotation phase, for and with the account manager, pilot and coordinate the internal teams to prepare the quotation file, including main hypothesis (volumes, financial target, technical assumptions, logistics assumptions, risks, ... )
  • In the industrialization phase, apply the AGC/FeelInGlass® Program Management System:
    • Lead and monitor the APQP with the support of the operational team, including Safety, Environment, Quality, Cost, Development, Deliveries, Management (of project, of customer and of internal resources) aspects.
    • Define with the account/sales manager, the technical manager, the operations/supply chain manager and the quality manager the optimal solutions from economical / technical / timing points of view, negotiate the technical issues with the customer.
    • Support manufacturing line materialization (supervision, coordination, control) according to customer specifications.
    • Support product industrialization and production ramp-up.
    • Support manufacturing operations management.

Requirements :

  • University degree, engineering,
  • 5+ years engineering experience, preferable in the automotive/mobility industry,
  • Relevant experience in program management & operational team management,
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and requirements of the automotive industry,
  • Relevant experience and/or strong affinity in display and/or lighting technologies is an asset
  • Good IT Skills (MS Office, Project),
  • Autonomous, entrepreneurial spirit, agile, willing to work within a dynamic team, stress resilient,
  • Strong project management, planning, organization & communication skills, in particular with Japanese/Asian stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe or internationally, with strong connection with Japan,
  • Business fluency in English is mandatory,
  • Knowledge of any other languages (Japanese, Chinese, French, German,...) is a plus
