Your mission:

You will be joining the Chemicals Division of the AGC  group. You will be based in their new laboratories at the Technovation Centre in Gosselies (Belgium).

Our objective is to support the European Green Deal by expanding hydrogen related developments and to become number one in Europe thanks to the Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM). AGC Chemicals is one of the few companies in the world that manufactures per-fluorinated ion exchange membrane from raw materials.

 

Mission and Tasks

You will be the Group Leader for Water Electrolysis membrane evaluation.  Because data collected in this field is  important to both R&D and business, you   report both  to the division manager of AGC chemicals at the  Technovation Centre (Gosselies, Belgium) and to the business director  (Amsterdam, Netherlands). 

As part of your mission, you will: 

  • Manage the people, budget and lab facilities (planning, selection, purchasing, set up, expansion ) of the Water Electrolysis group
  • Strongly support the project manager responsible for  operational management and customer support in your team
  • Discuss membrane developments with internal (incl R&D Japan) and external stakeholders
  • Proactively propose ideas for future developments and long term evaluation activity
  • Visit customers, exhibitions and related industrial or standardization meetings and communicate findings

Are you the perfect match ?

Knowledge Requirement/Skills Requirement/Experience

  • Chemical engineer or PHD chemistry
  • Experience in people management (preferably R&D field)  
  • Knowledge about electrochemistry, chemical engineering, and thermodynamics.
  • Ability to communicate in English (speaking, reading, and writing). 
  • Good communicator: with team members, internal/external stakeholders.
