Your duties inside the Analysis & Investigation Services (AIS) team  

The AIS department provides a wide range of services for researchers as well as industrial and commercial customers. Services include amongst others analysis of raw materials, analysis and testing of glass products,  providing conformity with specification or technical requirements, problem solving and root cause analyses, supplying of characterization methods, expertise in metrology and certifications.

You will work inside a dynamic team of approximately 20 researchers and technicians. The position requires technical curiosity across many research fields including glass, ceramics and coatings and a desire for technical leadership. 

  • You will receive relevant training and support as soon as you arrive and will discover our industrial world.
  • You will collaborate with :  
    • researchers involved in the development of  glass products and processes with added value in terms of innovation, quality and costs  for the automotive industries
    • experts in Quality Intelligence and Metrology
  • You will assist in the following fields :
    • maintaining knowledge of metrology principles in glass measurement and inspection
    • establishing new metrology requirements if required 
    • providing data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with other specialists  to solve issues
    • providing support for projects involving glass and coatings 
    • recommending/implementing improvements to processes and equipment. 

Are you the perfect match ?

Your profile 

  • You are a civil engineer or hold a Master or a PHD -  preferably in material sciences or chemistry
  • You are interested in or have working expertise in :
    • Glass, ceramics and coatings
    • Quality, measurement methodology and statistics 
    • Analysis techniques
  • You have good organisation, communication  and presentation skills 
  • Your personality , your ability to analyse complex problems, your flexibility and  your enthusiasm will be determining factors 
  • You are able to multitask and prioritise work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • You are fluent in English and/ or French 
  • You are eligible to work under a V.I.E. contract conditions
  • You will be located in Belgium, close to Brussels or Namur or Charleroi
