About the role

AGC Glass Europe is looking for a Fire Resistant Glass Test Engineer to manage and coordinate official and internal fire tests, lead the fire test team, and oversee the fire test laboratory. This is a hands-on technical and managerial role at the heart of AGC's Fire Resistant Glass activities, combining test planning, team leadership, and lab management.

Main responsibilities

·        Manage (Fire) tests (60%): detailed planning, detailed design, material ordering, frame/FRG installation and testing, in collaboration with the Fire Test Team.

·        Manage the AGC Fire Test Team (20%): direct management of a team of 3–4 workers.

·        Manage the AGC Fire Test Lab (20%): organization, investment, and safety.

Official & internal fire tests

·        Planning and organization of fire tests in close collaboration with the Development and Technical  Manager

·        Attendance and internal reporting for all official fire tests

·        Booking labs, ordering drawings and materials/glass, and explaining each test to the installation team

·        Review of drafts of test reports and classification reports

·        Contact with Sales Managers and clients regarding the organization of internal fire tests

·        Contact with ATC for tests in the 3x4m furnace (including presence during client tests)

·        Technical support for client development projects

·        Execution of all internal fire tests

Team Manager

·        Direct team management, including explanation of each fire test and bi-weekly meetings covering safety

·        Presence with the team during fire test installations abroad

Fire Test Lab Manager

·        Material orders and maintenance of the laboratory

·        Maintenance of the furnace

Business Unit

·        Preparation of installation guidelines for clients

·        Attendance at Sales meetings when testing campaigns are discussed
