AGC’S TECHNOVATION CENTRE  is looking for AN EXPERT IN MATERIALS  SCIENCE WITH EXPERTISE IN TRANSPARENT POLYMERS TO WORK ON AUTOMOTIVE GLASS PROJECTS

THE ANALYSIS INVESTIGATION AND TESTING (AIT) DEPARTMENT

The Analysis Investigation and Testing (AIT) Department located in Gosselies (Belgium) provides a wide range of services for researchers as well as industrial and commercial customers.

Services include amongst others analysis of raw materials, analyses and testing of glass products, determining of conformity with specification or technical requirements, problem solving and root cause analyses, supplying of characterisation methods, expertise in metrology and certifications.

The Role / Job :

Your duties inside AIT

You will work inside a team of approximately 30 researchers and technicians.

You will collaborate with researchers involved in the development of superior glass products and processes with added value in terms of innovation, quality and costs for the automotive industries.

You will act as one of the experts in Quality Intelligence and Metrology. The position requires technical curiosity across many research fields including glass and plastics and a desire for technical leadership. As such you will :

  • maintain deep knowledge of metrology principles in glass products measurement and inspection
  • establish new metrology requirements if required
  • determine and maintain metrology (measurement and inspection) roadmap
  • provide data analysis, expertise, and collaboration with production managers and other specialists to solve issues
  • lead and/or provide support for projects involving glass and plastics
  • recommend/implement improvements to processes and equipment.

 

Requirements :

YOUR PROFILE  – METROLOGY  EXPERT 

  • You are a civil engineer, chemical engineer or hold a PHD -  preferably in material  sciences or chemistry
  • You have working expertise in :
    • Plastic materials (PVB, EVA, … ) and ceramics (glass)(must)
    • Quality & project management, problem solving tools (including DOE)
    • Quality assurance, measurement methodology and statistics
    • Knowledge of analysis techniques
    • Knowledge of automotive industry is a plus
  • You are willing to work in a dynamic team where problem solving is always on the agenda
  • You have good organisation, communication  and presentation skills .
  • Your personality , your ability to analyse complex problems, your flexibility and  your enthusiasm will be determining factors
  • You are able to multitask and prioritise work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • You are fluent in  English (essential). Knowledge of French is a plus.
