AGC’s Technovation Centre (Gosselies, Belgium)

The Technovation Centre located in Gosselies (Belgium) centralises research, engineering and IP activities under one roof. It employs 270 people among which 180 researchers (mostly engineers and PhD’s), all driven by operational excellence and innovation.

Based on its three missions of technological innovation, technical assistance and scientific advice, the R&D Centre is developing the high-tech glass products of tomorrow while taking human wellbeing and protection of the environment into account.

for an EXPERT IN CATALYSIS FOR ITS TECHNOVATION CENTRE

The Role / Job :

YOUR MISSION  - EXPERT IN CATALYSIS   EXPERT

One of the Technovation Centre’s departments  focuses on areas where best in class heterogeneous catalyst  can make a contribution to the development of new glass related product or process. You will benefit from an onboarding programme at our Technovation Centre in Gosselies (Belgium) to gain the necessary insight into our world of innovation.

Your responsibilities will be as follows :          

  • Analyse all possible evolutions in the area of catalyst materials expertise linked to pollution control: state of the art technologies, catalyst materials design and production, equipment, instrumentation, computational ressources etc.
  • Initiate and manage new catalyst development projects.
  • Design necessary prototypes with relevant partners
  • Build strong collaboration with external stakeholders on complex catalysis projects: researchers experts ,laboratories, universities, potential commercial partners  for the development of the competence and the production of necessary prototypes  
  • Create synergies between the different internal (R&D, IP, marketing or business units) and external stakeholders (universities, institutions etc)

Requirements :

REQUIRED PROFILE

  • PHD in  material  sciences, chemistry or physics with  focus on catalysis and above average grades
  • Industrial hands on experience in catalysis and especially in catalysis materials is a plus
  • High level of creativity and autonomy
  • Coordination of various stakeholders is a key part in the role. You are an excellent all rounder with a high level of technical and scientific expertise.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mind-set
  • Your personality, your managerial approach, your ability to analyse complex problems and  your enthusiasm will be determining factors
  • You are fluent in  English (essential). Knowledge of French is a plus.
