As one of the research departments part of the Technovation Center, the Antennas Department employs approximately 25 people. The department is in charge of managing projects focusing on how to integrate, electronics and communication/connectivity elements that will provide an added value for the building and automotive industries in various glass applications.

AGC’s Technovation Centre is recruiting a junior researcher with proven experience in the field of EM simulation for its antennas department
 

Your mission
You will:

  • be part of a large team of antenna experts working on multiple projects in the field of connectivity, smart mobility and smart cities who keep close contacts with the market and its main actors
  • take part in antenna innovation by maturing new concepts, new simulation and measurement methods and by developing tomorrow’s generation of antennas in line with market needs
  • design automotive antenna structures for analog and digital radio (FM, DAB), digital TV, WiFi, mobile communications (LTE, 5G), satellite communications (GNSS, SDARS), considering complex antenna housing and environment (for example a full car)
  • perform efficient simulations of complex antenna structures, with various resolution methods
  • perform post-processing of simulation and measurement data to extract desired KPIs
  • perform physical antenna optimization on full size mock-ups and prototypes
  • perform complex measurements of antennas in state-of-the art unique large scale anechoic chambers
  • make clear reports of antenna performance for customers, with detailed parts but also with relevant top-view summaries

Requirements :

Your Profile

  • Master in physics/mathematics, civil / industrial engineer in electrical or related field (e.g. telecom, antenna, electromagnetics, …)
  • Proven electromagnetic simulation expertise with various softwares, such as CST, Feko, HFSS, …
  • Hands-on experience with antenna measurements (VNA, far-field measurements)
  • Knowledge of electromagnetism, antenna physics, radiation - propagation
  • Pragmatic: comparing simulations and measurements is essential for you. You understand the limitations of the simulated models and always look for the physical interpretation of the results
  • Efficient: you don’t like to waste time and are always seeking to consolidate your results, question yourself and adopt the most appropriate/efficient method 
  • Structured and organized: you like to work methodically with complex topics
  • Strong analytical skills: you like to handle large amounts of data
  • Strong logical mind

 

General skills

  • Open minded: you like adopting new working methods and like discussing best options to carry out a project
  • Efficient communicator: with slide deck presentations, written reports or when exchanging with our customers.
  • Multi tasker, able to meet deadlines and manage many different projects at once.
  • Able to elaborate, test, and propose new concepts autonomously
  • Fluent in English (essential). Knowledge of French is a plus.
