Purpose of the Position:
AGC is looking for a Plant Manager who will be responsible for leading, managing, and optimizing all aspects of its Seingbouse plant, a key part of AGC’s European operations. This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in industrial manufacturing, continuous production and union relations management, who can drive operational excellence, cost efficiency, workforce engagement and compliance with AGC’s Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment (QSHE) standards.
Key responsibilities:
The Plant Manager will oversee a workforce of approximately 200 employees and will be responsible for leading, managing, and supervising all key activities of the plant to ensure the achievement of budgetary objectives and a positive engaging labour climate. The Plant Manager will report directly to the EU Manufacturing Director.
Key activities:
QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health & Environment)
· Enforce stringent safety measures to reduce workplace incidents, promote a zero-accident mindset.
· Lead sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance in line with AGC’s corporate strategy.
Strategic Leadership & Business Performance
· Steer the implementation of the divisional strategy at the plant level.
· Ensure that production targets, cost management, and quality standards are met.
· Optimize plant efficiency and performance metrics.
People & Union Management
· Lead, coach, and motivate employees to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
· Develop and enhance teamwork to optimize workforce efficiency and satisfaction.
· Ensure proper workforce planning, balancing quantitative and qualitative staffing needs.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
· Ensure smooth 24/7 production operations.
· Implement lean manufacturing & ‘AGC WAY’ methodologies.
· Improve maintenance schedules, supply chain efficiency, and process reliability.
· Guarantee business continuity while improving plant efficiency and product quality.
Financial & Budgetary Oversight
· Oversee annual plant budgets and financial performance.
· Analyse, define, and propose investments to divisional management to sustain and enhance plant operations.
· Oversee the implementation of approved investments, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
· Maintain relationships with corporate leadership, unions, suppliers, and regulators.
Act as the key representative for Seingbouse operations, ensuring alignment with AGC’s business objectives.

Experience and Professional Qualifications
· 10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in glass, steel, cement, or chemicals.
· Proven experience managing continuous production processes in a high-capital industrial setting.
· Strong background in unionized environments, with the ability to foster stable labor relations.
· Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization, with a focus on cost reduction and operational efficiency.
· Familiarity with predictive maintenance strategies and industrial automation to enhance reliability and productivity.
· Proven experience leading 200+ employees, with the ability to develop, engage, and retain talent.
· Strong negotiation skills, particularly in managing union relations and multi-stakeholder interactions.
· Hands-on leadership style, ensuring visibility, presence, and direct engagement with the workforce.
· Experience in organizational transformation, driving cultural change and team collaboration.
· Proven ability to implement workforce development programs, fostering a high-performance work environment.
· Experience in managing large-scale budgets, with strong financial planning and cost-control capabilities.
· Expertise in investment planning (CAPEX), particularly in large-scale industrial projects.
· Proficiency in KPI analysis and performance monitoring, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
· Fluent in French and English (another language is a plus).
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial, Mechanical, or Management Engineering.
MBA or Six Sigma Black Belt certification is considered an advantage.
